Top 10 FAQ

  • Permanent Make Up is cosmetic tattooing that deposits coloured pigment into the dermis layer of the skin which ensures its long-lasting effect. It saves you time and gives freedom of not having to worry about not looking your best every day. It is meant to look as natural as possible as though you don’t need to wear it.

  • Permanent makeup is long lasting, but it will fade slowly over time.  The rule of thumb is the darker the colour, the longer it will last.  To keep your permanent makeup looking great is to have it touched up every 1-2 years.

  • Expect the first 30 mins of your appointment to be more a consulting period. You will fill out a form and I will take measurements and make and ask for suggestions to come up with an agreed look that we both think would be suitable for you. We would then go over the pigment colours and see what is most suitable for your skin and hair tone. Once we decide colour I then would draw a grid/outline of the shape and size to help you visualize the end result. No treatment will be done unless there is full consent. Each procedure takes about 2 hours. Once procedure is done we would then go over aftercare instructions.

BROWS

Brows are one of my greatest passions! They are the most crucial part to everyone’s face. If you were to draw a happy face how would you make it angry? By changing its brows… It can change the entire expression of one’s face. Many people lose their hair as they age and end up having very little to no brows!

Our main focus is to create a natural look that suits every client’s unique size and shape to enhance and compliment their desired look. Pigments are custom made to suit your skin tone and brow hair color to compliment your natural features to help you stay young and fresh and ready to go without having to draw on those brows.

We offer many different technique services that will be listed below. But what we would like you to know is that not everyone is suitable for any technique.

MICROBLADING

Microblading is a technique that uses a hair stroke method for enhancing the appearance of the eyebrows to create the most natural look. It is the most popular procedure on the market. This technique can last from 8 months to a year. If you have oily skin, you will want to consider another brow technique.

HYBRID BROWS

This method is a combination of Microblading, Powder and/or Ombré Brow techniques (see below). It enhances and defines the brows and is a great option for any skin type. Microblading (the hair stroke method) is used to create the natural brow hairs and the powder brow technique is also used to create a fuller look. For those who have oily skin and or missing a lot of hair or have patchy brows this is the technique for you. This procedure is slowly becoming the most popular service on the market! This can last from 8 months to a year.

POWDER BROW HYBRID

This technique is exactly how it sounds. It is a beautiful enhancement that makes your brows look softly powdered in. Unlike Microblading it instead uses a shading technique to give a more solid but soft look! This can last from 8 months to a year.

OMBRE’ BROWS

This is a much different method from microblading. It gives a soft powder makeup look that still appears natural but is lighter at the beginning of the brow and gets darker towards the tail end. This technique can be used with other techniques to look as fierce or soft as desired! This can last from 8 months to a year.

EYELINER

Permanent Eyeliner is one of the longest lasting procedures. It can last from 3-5 years and adds beautiful definition to the eyes. You can do the upper or lower lash line alone or go above the lash line and create a more eyeliner and/or add a wing to create a more dramatic make up look.

LASH ENHANCEMENT

This procedure is similar to the eyeliner but is a beautiful and soft look that makes your eye pop while still looking as natural as possible. It defines the lash line giving the illusion that you have fuller lashes filling in the space between the lashes. This technique can be used on the upper and/or lower lash line. This can last from 3-5 years.

LIPS

As women age we tend to lose pigment in our lips. They can appear smaller and pale and we can lose the outline of our natural lip which cause definition loss. To create a more natural and youthful look the lip procedure can help evenly tone the lips to appear smooth and at their best. We recommend that those who have any past history of cold sores, herpes and/or fever blisters do not do this procedure until you have obtained a doctor’s note with the prescription of Valtrex!

A VERY COMMON QUESTION IS “WHY DOES IT FADE?”

It’s a very good question. The answer is that a cosmetic tattoo only touches the dermis layer of your skin! This is meant to fade with time and you as a client have the option to make changes down the road to follow any new trends that may happen in the future. Another reason it fades differently for some client is because of their skin type. Dry skin clients are the easiest to work on and it lasts longer. Oily skin tends to fade quicker and will need more frequent touch ups.

Another answer to this question though is that we do not wash our face the same way we would wash our arms or legs. We use very specific products on our face compared to the rest and the ingredients and amount of washing can help permanent makeup fade. Yes, it is long lasting, but it is up to you to understand that you will make yearly appointments for touch ups and not everyone’s result heal the same way. But here at Muskoka Beautique you’re in good hands and we make sure we meet your expectations as much as possible.
